Carlos received a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Illustration from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1989. He began his illustration career working as a designer/fashion illustrator for the corporate fashion of Casino Entertainment & Apparel Industries. In 1993 Carlos started his freelance career and began teaching, first at his alma mater where he taught various illustration courses, as well as Ray Vogue College of Design, Miami Dade Community College and The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
His illustrations appear in magazines, book covers, newspapers, calendars, corporate and retail brochures.
Clients include – Helene Curtis, Lancome, Revlon, Bloomingdale’s, L’Oreal, Nordstrom, Abercrombie & Fitch, and several of the world’s leading magazines such as: Vogue, U.S. and International, Cosmopolitan, In Style, Glamour, Mademoiselle, Entertainment Weekly, People, OUT, Modern Bride, Seventeen, Teen, Movieline, Bride’s, American Woman, South Florida magazine and Woman’s Day; Newsweek, Business Week, US, Good Housekeeping, Latina, Palm Beach Illustrated, New Jersey, Atlanta Magazine, Ocean Drive Magazine, Boca Raton Magazine. Book publishers include Harlequin and BET.
